Joel Garner

Filed under: Personality — admin @ 8:08 am

Joel Garner was one of the most devastating fast bowlers in the history of cricket. He earned the sobriquet of ?Big Bird? because of his extraordinary height. Garner was a prized asset of the team as he was accurate, had different variations and a lively pace. In the shorter version of the game, he was phenomenal as restricting runs and getting wickets at the death came naturally to him.

He represented West Indies in 58 Test matches and 98 One Day Internationals. Garner also represented Barbados and Somerset in the domestic arena. He made pivotal contributions in West Indies? World Cup triumph in the year 1979.
